1. Introduction
MindMate respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected through the MindMate mobile application, website, appointment and support channels; why it is used; when it may be shared; and the choices available to you. The service is associated with Dr Mohd Fahad Khan in Lucknow.
2. Information you provide
Depending on the features you use, we may receive your name, age, gender, phone number, email address, profile details, appointment requests, symptoms or concerns you choose to share, consultation-related information, feedback, support messages, and other information you submit.
Mental-health and medical information is sensitive. Please provide only information that is relevant and that you are comfortable sharing through the selected channel.
3. Information collected automatically
The app or website may collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, language, IP address, crash diagnostics, usage events, and timestamps. This information helps operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service. The exact information collected may depend on your device, app version, and enabled features.
4. Permissions and device access
MindMate may request device permissions only when a feature needs them—for example, notifications for appointment reminders, camera or storage access for a document you choose to upload, or microphone access for a feature you actively use. You can manage permissions in your device settings. Disabling a permission may limit the related feature.
5. How information is used
Information may be used to provide and manage the service; respond to enquiries; arrange or support appointments; maintain patient and service records where applicable; personalise the app experience; send service notices and reminders; protect users and systems; comply with legal duties; and understand or improve app performance.
We do not sell personal or mental-health information.
6. Clinical information and confidentiality
Information shared during a professional consultation may form part of a clinical record and may be handled under applicable professional, ethical, and legal duties. Confidentiality may be limited where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent a serious and imminent threat to a person’s safety. The app should not be used for emergencies.
7. Sharing of information
Information may be shared with authorised healthcare or support personnel involved in your requested care; vendors that provide hosting, communications, analytics, security, or technical support; authorities when legally required; or another entity in connection with a lawful business transfer. Service providers should receive only the information reasonably necessary for their role and are expected to protect it.
8. Data retention and security
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, meet professional or legal obligations, and protect against misuse. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.
Reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards are used. However, no electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
9. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law and appropriate identity verification, you may request access to or correction of your information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, object to certain uses, or request deletion. Some information may need to be retained for clinical, safety, fraud-prevention, dispute, or legal reasons. You can also disable notifications and other permissions through device settings.
10. Children and caregivers
The service is not intended for unsupervised use by children. Where a minor receives care, information may be provided or managed by a parent or lawful guardian, subject to applicable law, professional judgment, and the minor’s rights. If you believe a child submitted information without appropriate authority, contact us.
11. Third-party services and links
MindMate may link to Google Play, maps, communication tools, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for independent third-party services, and you should review their terms before using them.
12. Updates and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service, technology, or legal requirements. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
